Calcium pantothenate (Vitamin B5) — living evidence map
The Atlas page holds the claims; this is how its evidence evolved.
Mechanism
Pantothenic acid (vitamin B5) is the starting material from which coenzyme A is assembled in five steps. · pmid:15893380
Pantothenate kinase, the first enzyme of coenzyme A synthesis, controls how much coenzyme A a cell makes: pantothenate was the most abundant pathway component in normal cells, and raising the enzyme's expression increased cellular coenzyme A 13-fold. · pmid:10625688
Identity
PubChem CID 443753: Calcium Pantothenate, C18H32CaN2O10, 476.5 g/mol. · pubchem:443753
CAS registry number 137-08-6. · pubchem:443753
IUPAC name: calcium bis(3-[[(2R)-2,4-dihydroxy-3,3-dimethylbutanoyl]amino]propanoate). · pubchem:443753
Where the evidence actually sits
Proportion of the 2 claims about Calcium pantothenate (Vitamin B5) standing at each tier. Community volume is shown on the Consensus tab beside this and is never averaged into it.
Living evidence history
2 resolved citations, oldest to newest, coloured by tier. Retractions and contradictions land here as they are recorded.
Structure
No structure representation on record. PepJunkie draws only what an authoritative record supplies; for a peptide that is the residue sequence, and none has been curated for Calcium pantothenate (Vitamin B5) yet.
Dose evidence, rung by rung
A studied human dose exists on file. Open the rung: the dose is the paper's, in its context, never PepJunkie's.
- Approved-label dose · a resolved regulatory document names a labelled dose
nothing resolved on this rung
- Studied human doses · resolved human studies at the established tier
- Coenzyme A: back in action. · pmid 15893380 · 2005
- Observational evidence · resolved human data at the emerging tier: thin, or contested

- Preclinical evidence · resolved animal, cell or mechanistic work
- Pantothenate kinase regulation of the intracellular concentration of coenzyme A. · pmid 10625688 · 2000
2 resolved citations, 0 unresolved (an unresolved citation lends nothing). Community volume is its own rung and is never averaged into the evidence rungs.
