Cerebrolysin — living evidence map

The Atlas page holds the claims; this is how its evidence evolved.

Summary

Cerebrolysin is a neuropeptide preparation described as mimicking the action of endogenous neurotrophic factors on brain protection and repair; it is a preparation, not a single molecule. · pmid:22514792

Mechanism

In dementia models it decreased beta-amyloid deposition and tau phosphorylation and increased synaptic density; in stroke models it reduced infarct volume and promoted functional recovery. · pmid:22514792

History

A 2018 meta-analysis of nine randomized ischemic-stroke trials (1,879 patients) reported greater early neurological improvement with Cerebrolysin than placebo, and described it as a parenterally administered preparation approved for stroke treatment. · pmid:29248999

In the CARS trial, 21 days of Cerebrolysin alongside rehabilitation, started 24 to 72 hours after stroke, improved arm motor function at day 90 compared with placebo. · pmid:26564102

Identity

No public registry record is shown for this page: PubChem gave no record that proves it is this substance.

Structure

No structure representation on record. PepJunkie draws only what an authoritative record supplies; for a peptide that is the residue sequence, and none has been curated for Cerebrolysin yet.

Dose evidence, rung by rung

No established safe human dose. Nothing on file establishes one. That is a statement about the evidence PepJunkie holds, not a promise about the molecule.

  1. Approved-label dose · a resolved regulatory document names a labelled dose
