KPV — living evidence map
The Atlas page holds the claims; this is how its evidence evolved.
Summary
KPV is the tripeptide Lys-Pro-Val, the C-terminal residues 11-13 of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone, studied for anti-inflammatory activity. · pmid:18092346
Mechanism
It enters intestinal epithelial and immune cells through the peptide transporter PepT1, and at nanomolar concentrations it inhibited NF-kappaB activation; given in drinking water it reduced colitis in mice. · pmid:18061177
History
In two mouse models of inflammatory bowel disease it hastened recovery and reduced colonic inflammatory infiltrates. · pmid:18092346
Identity
PubChem CID 125672: Msh (11-13), C16H30N4O4, 342.43 g/mol. · pubchem:125672
CAS registry number 67727-97-3. · pubchem:125672
IUPAC name: (2S)-2-[[(2S)-1-[(2S)-2,6-diaminohexanoyl]pyrrolidine-2-carbonyl]amino]-3-methylbutanoic acid. · pubchem:125672
Where the evidence actually sits
Proportion of the 2 claims about KPV standing at each tier. Community volume is shown on the Consensus tab beside this and is never averaged into it.
Living evidence history
2 resolved citations, oldest to newest, coloured by tier. Retractions and contradictions land here as they are recorded.
Structure
No structure representation on record. PepJunkie draws only what an authoritative record supplies; for a peptide that is the residue sequence, and none has been curated for KPV yet.
Dose evidence, rung by rung
No established safe human dose. Nothing on file establishes one. That is a statement about the evidence PepJunkie holds, not a promise about the molecule.

- PepT1-mediated tripeptide KPV uptake reduces intestinal inflammation. · pmid 18061177 · 2008
- Melanocortin-derived tripeptide KPV has anti-inflammatory potential in murine models of inflammatory bowel disease. · pmid 18092346 · 2008
2 resolved citations, 0 unresolved (an unresolved citation lends nothing). Community volume is its own rung and is never averaged into the evidence rungs.
