Methylcobalamin — living evidence map
The Atlas page holds the claims; this is how its evidence evolved.
Summary
Methylcobalamin is a form of vitamin B12; in nine hemodialysis patients with uremic or diabetic neuropathy, intravenous methylcobalamin three times a week for six months was followed by less pain or paresthesia and faster conduction in two nerves. · pmid:10411351
A meta-analysis of 17 studies in diabetic peripheral neuropathy found lipoic acid combined with methylcobalamin superior to methylcobalamin alone on nerve conduction velocity and symptoms, while calling for larger well-designed trials. · pmid:23664235

Where the evidence actually sits
Proportion of the 2 claims about Methylcobalamin standing at each tier. Community volume is shown on the Consensus tab beside this and is never averaged into it.
Living evidence history
2 resolved citations, oldest to newest, coloured by tier. Retractions and contradictions land here as they are recorded.
Structure
No structure representation on record. PepJunkie draws only what an authoritative record supplies; for a peptide that is the residue sequence, and none has been curated for Methylcobalamin yet.
Dose evidence, rung by rung
No established safe human dose. Nothing on file establishes one. That is a statement about the evidence PepJunkie holds, not a promise about the molecule.
- Approved-label dose · a resolved regulatory document names a labelled dose

- Studied human doses · resolved human studies at the established tier

- Observational evidence · resolved human data at the emerging tier: thin, or contested
- Intravenous methylcobalamin treatment for uremic and diabetic neuropathy in chronic hemodialysis patients. · pmid 10411351 · 1999
- Meta-analysis of methylcobalamin alone and in combination with lipoic acid in patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy. · pmid 23664235 · 2013
- Community-reported protocols · protocol propositions from distinct members, counted once per human

- Preclinical evidence · resolved animal, cell or mechanistic work
nothing resolved on this rung
2 resolved citations, 0 unresolved (an unresolved citation lends nothing). Community volume is its own rung and is never averaged into the evidence rungs.
