Semaglutide — living evidence map

The Atlas page holds the claims; this is how its evidence evolved.

Summary

Semaglutide is a glucagon-like peptide-1 analogue with two amino acid substitutions (Aib8, Arg34) and a fatty-acid derivatization at lysine 26, designed for high albumin affinity and once-weekly dosing. · pmid:26308095

History

In SUSTAIN-6, 3,297 patients with type 2 diabetes had fewer cardiovascular deaths, non-fatal heart attacks or non-fatal strokes on semaglutide than on placebo (6.6% against 8.9%; hazard ratio 0.74). · pmid:27633186

In the 68-week STEP 1 trial of 1,961 adults with overweight or obesity, mean body weight fell by 14.9% on semaglutide 2.4 mg weekly against 2.4% on placebo. · pmid:33567185

Structure

No structure representation on record. PepJunkie draws only what an authoritative record supplies; for a peptide that is the residue sequence, and none has been curated for Semaglutide yet.

Dose evidence, rung by rung

A studied human dose exists on file. Open the rung: the dose is the paper's, in its context, never PepJunkie's.
