ACE-083 — living evidence map
The Atlas page holds the claims; this is how its evidence evolved.
Summary
ACE-083 is a locally acting, follistatin-based therapeutic protein that binds myostatin and other regulators of muscle; in a first-in-human study, injections into a single leg muscle of healthy postmenopausal women increased that muscle's volume by up to 14.5% without changing mean muscle strength. · pmid:29486514
In a randomized phase 2 study in facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy, injected biceps and tibialis anterior muscles grew in volume compared with placebo, but function and patient-reported outcomes did not consistently improve over up to 12 months. · pmid:35428982
Identity
No public registry record is shown for this page: PubChem gave no record that proves it is this substance.
Where the evidence actually sits
Proportion of the 2 claims about ACE-083 standing at each tier. Community volume is shown on the Consensus tab beside this and is never averaged into it.
Living evidence history
2 resolved citations, oldest to newest, coloured by tier. Retractions and contradictions land here as they are recorded.
Structure
No structure representation on record. PepJunkie draws only what an authoritative record supplies; for a peptide that is the residue sequence, and none has been curated for ACE-083 yet.
Dose evidence, rung by rung
No established safe human dose. Nothing on file establishes one. That is a statement about the evidence PepJunkie holds, not a promise about the molecule.
- Approved-label dose · a resolved regulatory document names a labelled dose
nothing resolved on this rung
- Studied human doses · resolved human studies at the established tier

- Observational evidence · resolved human data at the emerging tier: thin, or contested
- Locally acting ACE-083 increases muscle volume in healthy volunteers. · pmid 29486514 · 2018
- Randomized phase 2 study of ACE-083, a muscle-promoting agent, in facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy. · pmid 35428982 · 2022
- Community-reported protocols · protocol propositions from distinct members, counted once per human

- Preclinical evidence · resolved animal, cell or mechanistic work
nothing resolved on this rung
2 resolved citations, 0 unresolved (an unresolved citation lends nothing). Community volume is its own rung and is never averaged into the evidence rungs.
