HNG (S14G-Humanin / Glycine-Humanin) — living evidence map
The Atlas page holds the claims; this is how its evidence evolved.
Summary
S14G-humanin (HNG) is a derivative of the 24-residue peptide humanin with glycine in place of serine 14, about 1,000 times more potent than humanin at suppressing neuronal death caused by Alzheimer's-related insults in cell studies. · pmid:16945331
Mechanism
Injected into the brain ventricles of mice, S14G-humanin prevented amyloid-beta-induced memory impairment and preserved cholinergic neurons in the basal forebrain. · pmid:15678515
Identity
PubChem CID 155887372: H-Maprgfsclllltgeidlpvkrra-OH, C118H202N34O31S2, 2657.2 g/mol. · pubchem:155887372
Where the evidence actually sits
Proportion of the 2 claims about HNG (S14G-Humanin / Glycine-Humanin) standing at each tier. Community volume is shown on the Consensus tab beside this and is never averaged into it.
Living evidence history
2 resolved citations, oldest to newest, coloured by tier. Retractions and contradictions land here as they are recorded.
Structure
No structure representation on record. PepJunkie draws only what an authoritative record supplies; for a peptide that is the residue sequence, and none has been curated for HNG (S14G-Humanin / Glycine-Humanin) yet.
Dose evidence, rung by rung
No established safe human dose. Nothing on file establishes one. That is a statement about the evidence PepJunkie holds, not a promise about the molecule.
